2010 Summer Camp Information
Important information for Scouts, Scouters and parents about Summer Camp. This year we will be going to Camp Constantin near Mineral Wells, Texas, for our Summer Camp. Summer Camp is the week of June 13th to June 19th. Summer Camp is a excellent opportunity for new Scouts as well as older Scouts. At Summer Camp the Scouts can earn merit badges, learn skills needed for making First Class, as well as, adventures in camping in the great outdoors for a week.

For Scouts

- Departure for Camp is 8:00 A.M. Sunday June 13th, at McKamy Elementary. Eat breakfast before you come.
- Wear your swim trunks under your Scout uniform (Full Field uniform [Class A]), one of the first things we do when we get to camp is the swim test.
- Summer Camp Picnic - With parents, June 7th, 7:00 P.M., park area behind the Church. Logowear orders, luggage tags for equipment, and merit badge schedules will be handed out. Check troop website for what food dishes need to be brought for the picnic, varies depending on last name.
For Scouters/Adults Attending Camp - all forms due at the May Summer Camp meeting

- Medication form(s) for Scouts only - place completed form(s) for each med in a small ziplock baggie without the meds and please do not write on bag - http://troop876.org/documents/doc8.pdf
- Adult Application form for Boy Scout leadership - http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/28-501.pdf. Even if you are already registered, the camp requires a separate copy. Download form and complete - You only need to print out page 5.

- Youth Protection Online Training Certificate - https://scoutnet.scouting.org/elearning If you have taken the online training within the past two years, print out a copy of your current certificate. If you have never taken the training or it has expired (only good for 2 years), you can go to the website and take the course and print your certificate.
- Summer Camp Leaders Meeting - Required for all Summer Camp leaders. Dr. Lonquist's house, 6:30 P.M., May 31st.
For Parents
- Medical forms (including medication forms) are due at the Summer Camp finalization meeting on Mon., May 17th.
- Medications to be taken by Scouts at camp must be packaged per troop policy, and a medication form must be completed for each medication. Medications will be turned in at the picnic on Mon., June 7th, but the medication forms are due at the Summer Camp finalization meeting on Mon., May 17th.
- All parents are invited out to summer camp for a BBQ dinner and awards ceremony Friday night. Dinner starts at 6:30 P.M., but plan on arriving by at least 6:00 P.M. Dinner costs $6.00 per person, you will pay at the camp HQ when you arrive. If you arrive early you can spend the time with your son seeing the camp, as the merit badge classes are over by 4:00 P.M. Following the awards ceremony is the Order of the Arrow call out ceremony, which you are also invited to attend.
