We have started collecting for Summer Camp. Camp this year will cost $205.00 A deposit of $105.00 is due by Monday, March 29th. The remaining amount of $100 will be due by May 17th.

Troop 876 New Scout Joining Meeting Who: Parent/Guardian and Scout When: Tuesday, April 6, 2010 Time: 7 - 9 pm Where: Valley View Christian Church - http://troop876.org/newsite/page.asp?id=86 Bring: Checkbook or cash* Complete following documents (all medical on Troop website at http://troop876.org/newsite/page.asp?id=84) : 1. Annual Health & Medical Record - Parts A & C (we will need Part B for summer camp - this requires a physical - will be due at our Summer Camp Meeting on Monday, May 17th) - be sure to include YEAR for immunizations (BSA policy for camps) - this is a PDF editable document, so complete online and save to be updated annually. 2. Medication Release form for youth Scouts only 3. Asthma Emergency form if applicable 4. Allergy Emergency form if applicable 5. Driver''s Information Request form - link: http://troop876.org/documents/doc97.pdf *The joining costs are different depending on whether or not Scouts/Scouters rechartered with their former pack this year. For those who have already rechartered with their pack, there will be a $1 transfer fee plus $25 for youth Scouts; adult Scouters only pay $1 to transfer to our troop. For those who did not recharter with their former pack this year, the cost is $49.75 for youth Scouts ($24.75 for BSA fee and $25 for troop) and $13.75 (BSA fee) for adult Scouters. If you are unsure whether you rechartered with your pack, please confirm with your cubmaster before our meeting. Meeting Agenda: registration and introduction to the troop (upcoming activities, suggested camping equipment, etc.) IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING ATTENDING SUMMER CAMP: New Scouts and Scouters planning to attend summer camp can receive a $30 savings by paying the $100 deposit at this meeting - this is the deadline for early deposits. We recommend all new Scouts attend summer camp in order to complete many of the Trail to First Class requirements, as well as, to make new friends and HAVE FUN! Prepare for the Oklahoma Hike (March 26 to 28)
The next troop meetings are devoted to preparation for the Oklahoma Hike. Everyone attending the hike must be present for the next trooop meetings. Teaching topics are as follows: Feb. 22nd Cooking, equipment/packing, and backpacking stoves March 1st Boots/foot care, clothing, Leave No Trace/trail etiquette/hiking safety March 22nd Shakedown for the hike
