Saturday June 9th at the Plano Convention Center (map and directions in web link below) the Circle Ten Radio Scouting group is putting on a one day radio merit badge class. This summertime merit badge and lunch event is free to Scouts in uniform. The link below has all the info. Scouters and Scouts in uniform can also attend the hamcom event across the street for free as well.
- Full field uniform (Class A) is required for the drive to Caddo Lake Friday and back home Sunday.
- Wear clothes you can get wet while canoeing. A swim suit is practical with a t-shirt.
- Closed toed-shoes which cannot slip off without assistance should be worn while canoeing. Water shoes are ideal. Crocs are ok as long as they have a heel strap.
- Weather forecast is sunny this weekend. Everyone must wear sunscreen and hat while canoeing.
- Pack a sack lunch for Saturday. No cooking at lunch!
- Pack dry clothes and shoes to change into when you arrive at the island Saturday afternoon.
- Bring your own water for the weekend. Each person should have at least 2 gallons of water.
- Bring money to purchase Friday dinner and Sunday lunch on the road.
Welcome to the new troop website. We hope this website will be much more useful and informative than our old website. It has a number of features that the old one didn't have. You can subscribe to the troop calender from your smartphone (iPhone/iPad, possibly Android), your Mac (iCal), your Google Calendar (if you have one), and if events dates or times change these programs can fetch the new information on a schedule you set when you subscribe).
The new site allows us to signup for non troop meeting/campout type of events, such as merit badge classes, Life to Eagle meetings, committee meetings, etc. Basically non reoccuring meetings (there no need to sign up for a meeting like the weekly troop meeting), and those that don't cost. We will begin using this feature for merit badges and other things starting now. To signup each Scout will have to have an unique email address, this address can be their own, or a parents email, but every Scout in the troop has to have a unique address. That means if there are two Scouts (or more) Scouts from the same family, each will have to have their own email, or two parents emails, or some combination of these. These address will only be used by the troop for email the troop newsletter, information needed for a specific merit badge the Scout has signed up for, and similar needs. By using email address for signups, reminder emails will be automatically sent for those events Scouts register for.
If you have any ideas on how to make the website even more useful, please feel free to contact Mr. Reuscher.
